If you ever want to date J.Crew, GAP, or Old Navy (and maybe more brands I'm not thinking of), the tiny white tag behind the care label usually includes the season and year it was released! (I'm obsessed with checking this tag at the thrift store)
I’ve been after good oversized button downs, & last thrift I came up golden! some finance guy must’ve retired/died because there were over 20 bespoke italian poplin shirts with the same initials/dry cleaning tags. I snagged two of the best & a vintage chambray with a weird gorilla embroidery on the chest.
The way I wish I could jump into that photo of the J.Crew rollneck and take it home with me!!!! I'm currently wearing it in yellow and would kill for it in green. (It really is the MVP of sweaters like Erika says.) So many great finds in here -- I truly admire your self restraint!
I thrifted an amazing buttery soft black leather purse recently. I’m at a point where I should take a thrifting break because I’m so frustrated and overwhelmed by the garbage clothes 😒
Looove these posts!! Also just went on an eBay dive for more Davison’s cotton sweaters bcs I love that one so much so ty for the intro to that brand 💗💗💗 the vintage fashion guild’s page on crew labels is … not comprehensive lol 🧐 but this Reddit post says they all have a date on their interior label - maybe for next time!
The GAP striped sweater is (I think) knocking off a Toteme striped sweater that was everywhere a couple years ago so I think this is runoff from that trend (I feel I can say this definitively bc I bought it circa winter 2023)

Exactly what I came to say! Also, Banana Republic has these too.💕

If some of these had been my size I wouldn’t have been as restrained..
Fun post! I really like that blue sweater with the two yellow stripes but they're not my colors either. I hope someone picks that up!

Idk if this aligns with your style but I’ve had much more luck in the men’s section lately - less fast fashion!

the nautical Davison’s sweaters are so cool!
Like I can’t sail but maybe I need a sweater covered in nautical flags that implies I CAN?
The last L.L.Bean jacket would've been a "shut up and take my money" moment for me!
I would love to shop your discards pile 😉
I tried… I waited in the longest thrift store line I’ve ever seen just to bring up an item with no tags and plead my case but they were firm! 😭
