It's funny, I have been daydreaming about the perfect outfit to wear to my husband's marathons, very sporty settings where I haven't been able to find an appropriate type of outfit that also feels like me. In doing so, I've had the same thought as you: sweats/athletic pants and sneakers is too much sport for one outfit! This is a great example of it working, balanced by one or two clearly nonsporty items.
wow that eddie bauer leather jacket is GORGEOUS! echoing others, i also love this series!! esp that you dive into what feels like it's off/not working/different than the inspo, really helps to nail down /identify what IS working and what was so appealing about the original outfit and see if there's another way to get there.
This is the substack fashion version of Missed Connections! Also funny, I've been wearing my track pants a ton. More soon on that front. :)
Huge compliment bc I *loved* the Missed connections era of NYC … used to check it daily with my roommates 😂
What Kendall said! I have a running note in my phone of outfits I see IRL that I love. Started after your first 'copy + paste'
I love this!!
I’m so into the track pants and sweater combo - leather jacket is even more fun! Maybe this solves my flying outfit woes.

I’m am absolutely loving this series and ever since the first one I’ve realized I’ve been doing this in my own life!
Yes! I think we all are, to some extent - it feels more achievable and exciting than trying to recreate something from Instagram or Pinterest
I've been scouring the internet for the perfect pair of red track pants! Good finds and love this look.
Let me know if you get some!

And thank you - feels vulnerable to share the “meh” but I realize I love it when other people do
I know, the jacket is really good—I hope a reader gets it!
love this series!
