I also let myself get 1 item per month (in person thrifting does not apply ๐). I'm not doing any no/low buy challenges. However, I've been forced (FORCED!) to follow the rule of 1 item comes in, 1 item goes out. It's a necessity for me. I've loved fashion since I can remember, been thrifting since I've got my first pocket money. I'm simply running out of space. It's so sad ( soooo saad ๐ฅฒ ) when I have to leave something behind, but it feels good to realize I have plenty of pieces, that I don't want to get rid of.
Space is an underappreciated constraint! I have a big closet (at least by NYC standards!) and I'm sure I would be more choosy if I had to consolidate my wardrobe further
Love how everyone is approaching their low buy a little differently! In the end, itโs just about consuming a little more intentionallyโwhatever that looks like for you.
Love in person thrifting, and this year Iโve started a photo album where Iโm documenting everything I buy. So far itโs been a vintage label maker, 90s Vera Bradley tote, vintage oversized J Crew striped shirt, gray merino knit polo sweater, 90s Gap black wool cardigan, an 80s suede Charles Jourdan crossbody, and a Clare V straw bag. Thrifting with cash also helps me reflect on if I REALLY love something.
Love your boots ๐ค and vintage Jones New York is ๐ค๐ป
god i'm kinda convinced now that the key to shopping in a fulfilling way is acknowledging my scarcity mindset. thank you for putting that into words! especially your point about always being able to find dupes for your RFC posts. i literally do the same thing and then get to the thrift and act like i'll never find an affordable cream ruffled blouse again.
That opening ceremony jacket is such a find! I just reorganized my TRR saves last night, and added a midi skirt search with only my favorite brands, but maybe I should just try going to their physical location in SoHoโฆ have you been?
I really like your approach to one new thing, as opposed to a budget and then cramming things in. I have also used RTR for years and the few things Iโve bought after renting have definitely been my favorite pieces. Itโs a sure fire approach!
I feel like the TRR locations have really nice stuff but truly nothing under like $300, so the only time I go in is when Iโm dropping off consignment!

I love that! Feels less like another set of data to track and more like a joyful way to keep tabs on what youโre finding
The two toned denim shirt looks so good. Cant wait to see it in a future oOtd.
I love that you found a middle way that works for you!
