This is a slightly abbreviated week (only six outfits), but it’s coming right before a longer trip, when I tend to start “saving” the things I want to bring so they’ll be clean when I start packing. Hoping this tendency will be alleviated slightly if I ever live somewhere with an in-unit dryer—when your only choices are laundromat or air-dry, it’s difficult to make a last minute packing pivot!
DAY ONE: Last-minute lunch in between sessions with my friend Kristin, who had some unexpected time between errands while she was in town for the day! Wearing a Sea New York shirt (secondhand in different colorway here, similar vibe via secondhand Madewell here, cool handmade Etsy one here), black By Malene Birger tank top (similar here), Needles pants (secondhand here and here), and gold Melissa sandals (secondhand here).
DAY TWO: (feat. cameo from the dog) It is so hot. Nothing special today, just work and short walks in the park across the street—wearing the Melissa sandals, Agolde jeans (exact pair secondhand here), vintage top (similar here), and Florida Lottery baseball cap to offset the frilliness (exact one secondhand here).
DAY THREE: Dinner at new favorite restaurant around the corner with friends who were living near us for the last month and headed back to the west coast. I’d like to remember the things I eat without being the kind of person who has to take a food photo (no shame! I just feel personal shame when I do it) so I’ve been slipping an extra menu into my bag to take home instead. Not any leather-bound ones, I’m not a monster, just the daily printed paper ones! Wearing vintage lace top** (similar here and here), black Apiece Apart pants (secondhand here in pink in a 6 and a 2 and off-white in a 16 and a 12), rented Mansur Gavriel bag (similar here), and Everlane mary janes (secondhand in cream here).
**The top belonged to my mom’s friend until recently—my mom sent me a picture and asked if I was interested. She told me she thinks she borrowed it from her friend for my aunt and uncle’s engagement party (in the 1980s, if I’m calculating correctly). How can anything new beat a story like that?
DAY FOUR: Still hot. Don’t remember what it is like to feel cold. Wearing a rented Free People dress via Nuuly (similar here [$$] and here [$$$]), Melissa sandals, and freebie hat from book reading (similar here). Was intercepted by neighbors in the park while out with the dog so we hung out with them in the shade until it was intolerable.
DAY FIVE: Work, sewing, watching soccer with our downstairs neighbors! This photo was taken after one of the brief times I ventured outside (only out of necessity, for the dog). It’s hard to feel interesting (sartorially and otherwise) in this heat/humidity combo. Just a t-shirt and jeans. Wearing Everlane t-shirt from ages ago (similar in thicker stripes here and thinner here), Agolde jeans, freebie hat, and Melissa sandals.
DAY SIX: Doctor’s appointment in the city (with a mandatory visit to Matchaful for soft serve post-appointment). Wearing thrifted Miami Heat shirt (similar here), Agolde jeans, black Melissa sandals (secondhand here), and freebie cap (felt like the Florida Lottery one would have been too much Florida for one outfit). I tried tucking this shirt in before leaving the house but couldn’t get this meme about the ‘millennial tuck’ out of my head (discovered via an Instagram Reels repost of a TikTok meme, which is how any true millennial finds out about TikTok trends). Informal poll in the comments—do you default to the tucked-in shirt or not?

I would say the tuck I opt for is dependent on the outfit. I wore some flared tie waist linen pants this weekend and did a front tuck with a fitted vintage tshirt. I think button downs look great with the half tuck. Sometimes I forgo the tuck 🤷🏻♀️
I LOVE the red trim shirt. What a fun detail!
Obsessed w the white shirt w red trim! Also have such a hard time not tucking!!
