I would say the tuck I opt for is dependent on the outfit. I wore some flared tie waist linen pants this weekend and did a front tuck with a fitted vintage tshirt. I think button downs look great with the half tuck. Sometimes I forgo the tuck 🤷🏻♀️
same re: white shirt and red trim except I'm obsessed with all of the first four outfits.
I tend to default to a full tuck-in on anything with a long hem but I've noticed I tend to untuck with all my shorter bottoms (miniskirts, shorts) esp in summer.
I will stand by the millennial tuck until the day I die… I have been doing more untucked looks but it has to be a VERY specific cut or I look 3 ft tall
I’m firmly in the use case “it depends on the outfit” camp re: tuck/untuck. Love a good all baggy everything big shirt + big skirt fit, but some blouses & trousers just look better in a katharine hepburn tuck!
as a millennial though, I have never owned no-show/ankle socks, always been a fan of either a comfy scrunch sock or bonne maison weird art print crews!
I'm firmly in camp All The Way In (like we did in the late 00s) or All The Way Out (like we did in the 90s), no half measures even though I'm very much an old millennial.
The lone exception is a vintage 1940s top that often ends up half-untucked because it's at the exact length that causes it to pop out of the waistband of my skirt if I stretch to pick an item off a shelf at the supermarket.
( I do remain firmly millennial in finding sport socks/tube socks i.e. those thick white ones with the stripes at the top repulsive though, even if Bella Hadid wore them well. )
I have to tuck. I'm shaped like a stocky rectangle, I need some shape. I have started wearing crew socks to the gym and the Gen Zs can have it - they are far superior to invisible socks in the comfort stakes. They look very silly though. I'm cool with them taking our skinny jeans, they never looked that great on me anyway and I have curly hair so hair trends don't touch me. You'll take my tuck from my cold dead hands. I also read an article that apparently under eye concealer is out? Nope. I'll be wearing Sephora IT Bye Bye Undereye until I die.
Agreed on skinny jeans.. when I look back at photos of myself, the only item of clothing that really feels dated now are those! Jealous of the curls… curly hair is my favorite accessory (that I don’t have)
yeah look I hated it in high school (all curly gals do) but once I was free in the world, I honestly love it. My hair never looks dated in photos because curly hair is transcendent. Except that one time I got pink streaks.
I try to tuck less these days but I also can’t help it 😆 Also I have that same FP dress (bought it for my bday years ago… in December) and I’ve never thought to wear it in the summer but maybe I’ll give it a try ☀️
Love the new photo format! I do default to the dreaded tuck, but have been experimenting with “column dressing” (is that what it’s called?!) with an untucked long boxy tee and skirt!
I’ve kinda de-evolved my tucking styles. Like 8 years ago, I would tuck my entire shirt into everything! Then the last few years, I’ve done the half tucking look because I always like to showcase my belts lol. But definitely experimenting with fully untucked shirts this summer. I’m not sure if it helps because I’m pretty short but also loving how free it feels and that’s the most important part!
I’ve been living the illustrative art styles found in this summer’s patterns! So your first outfit with the blue blouse is so cute 🥰

I LOVE the red trim shirt. What a fun detail!
Obsessed w the white shirt w red trim! Also have such a hard time not tucking!!

That’s right, height changes the proportions too!

Outfit-dependent—the sensible take!

Gen Z 🙋🏼♀️ I tuck and wear no show socks im sooo not like other people my age😉. Jk! I just think the tuck and showing a little ankle is flattering.

Watching that Miami heat shirt, great find!!
I have another good one for you if you like that one!

If you live somewhere with low humidity I would definitely try it in the summer! Not as good for high humidity
I definitely tuck 😅

Ooh I like that! What kind of boxy tee / skirts? (Material and level of dressiness?)
This one specifically! Pretty casual, with a pocket, decently high neckline. https://www.madewell.com/garment-dyed-oversized-pocket-tee-NN250.html?ccode=BK5201&nextgen=false
That looks like a perfect t-shirt!
