I try to provide a secondhand option for every piece of clothing in these posts, whether it’s the exact item or an approximation. You can assume anything I link to is secondhand unless otherwise stated!
Work and meeting up with a Tumblr friend (lol, I promise I’ve made friends in real life too!) from truly ages ago that I’ve never met in person. Her first book came out a couple months ago and it’s so good! Wearing a rented Sandro sweater that I may end up hanging onto (similar vibe here with brown instead of red, similar half-zips in men’s L here and men’s XXL here), old Madewell skirt (exact one here), Sam Edelman boots (many here), and Tod’s red leather bag (same one in black here). (You’ll read more about that purchase in a future post!) All bundled up, I’ve added a COS cashmere beanie (similar here), thrifted faux-layered coat (similar cashmere version here), and COS navy puffer scarf that I don’t wear as often as I should (very similar alternative here).
Day of errands and baking for a Super Bowl party where I was tasked with dessert (I ended up making a mediocre banana bread and some insanely good shortbread cookies—this Alison Roman recipe except I used whole wheat flour because I was out of regular and I really liked it). Wearing a Derek Lam button-up via TRR (similar here), Garnet Hill cotton sweater vest via eBay (similar vibe here in mens XXL and here in M), Tibi coat via Rent the Runway (exact one via Canadian Poshmark here), Coach beanie via eBay (here), DL1961 jeans (here in a 24, here in a 30 and 32 in a lighter shade of denim—these run big, would order at least one size down), Sam Edelman boots and new Tod’s bag again.
Went to my friend Kara’s for a long overdue evening of quilting and snacks. The way to do it is this: stop at at least two bodegas on the way over and get a few snacks at each one. The evening’s menu: strawberry Pocky, Hello Panda cookies, Life Savers gummies, Haribo Twin Snakes—and homemade pizza! Wearing a Jenni Kayne brown corduroy blazer via TRR that I haven’t worn in ages (similar J. Crew one here in an 8 and here in a 0), old J. Crew tissue turtleneck (so many if you search “j crew tissue turtleneck black poshmark” on Google… better than using Poshmark directly for some reason), Madewell belt (similar vintage one here), Loeffler Randall cowboy boots (short version here in a 9), and DL1961 jeans again. I haven’t worn this blazer since I left the school… I felt allergic to fitted blazers for a while. I’m glad I held onto it—there is a time and place for a fitted blazer, and it felt right this evening!
Work, errands, nothing special! Wearing Miami Heat sweatshirt (similar here), Agolde Luna jeans (many here), Nike Blazers (so many here), thrifted necklaces from high school, rented Sandro burgundy leather bag that is unfortunately perhaps a more utilitarian choice than the red leather bag I just bought (similar here and here), and the Derek Lam button-up again.
Day of work and baking. I got back into making this oat/whole wheat/honey/apple cider vinegar bread when I was in Florida (my dad loves to bake bread so we experimented together) and have continued to make it regularly since getting back to New York. Wearing all repeats from earlier in the week except for the button-up underneath, which is an old Tibi piece via TRR (similar Tibi shirt here in a M and here in an XXS). I haven’t worn it in a while because the puffy sleeve silhouette felt slightly tricky, and I was challenging myself to wear it this winter or resell it. Glad I found a way to make it work!
This was such a perfect day, and I wish I liked my outfit more! I only had one session in the morning, so Lily came over afterwards to work from my apartment while I did some writing and life admin and we both sat at the dining table. I left her with the dog while I went to a workout class and then came home and made dinner (this recipe… turned out great). I’m wearing GAP barrel leg jeans (here in black), Muji striped turtleneck (exact one here on Canadian Poshmark), Jones New York wool jacket (size small here and large here), rented Rails half-zip vest (exact one here), and Sam Edelman boots again. I don’t know what I would change about this outfit, but I’m struggling to style this vest. Maybe with a white turtleneck underneath, and black jeans instead of the dark blue? I’m always so drawn to sweater vests but never know how to wear them. How would you wear this vest?
Wore this to my quilt guild meeting! I was out of town for the last two—it’s good to be back. I love wearing these pants to guild meetings because I know they’ll be appreciated by my fellow quilters. Wearing W’Menswear pants (same exact ones here in a 30 and here in a 32), a Muji turtleneck (here in a lighter shade), Burberry wool vest (extremely similar Ralph Lauren version here), Dunst leather jacket (similar in brown here), brown Nike Blazers (here), and Jones New York jacket, Sandro bag, and Coach beanie again.
If you missed the previous installments of weekly outfit posts, you can find them here!
I love a fitted blazer! That’s my favourite, Eleanor!💕
Oh the corduroy jacket, denim, and cowboy boots is hitting some specific note of perfection for me!! So glad you kept the blazer hahah fashion really is just that microwave meme and we’re all rotating in it lol 🔁
