That suit is GORGEOUS!! I think super minimal sandals would be fun, low profile sneakers (so the pants break well), and for formal maybe something with a more elongated/pointed toe as someone above mentioned!! But honestly I bet the more you wear it (esp once the pants are tailored) the more shoes you’re like “oh this looks great” bcs your eye just gets used to it! Also wow those cords and the red top are IT. Also ty for saying red bottoms are hard to style bcs I have a pair of red cords I LOVE and somehow struggle SO hard to wear, I have like 3 specific outfits I can do and idk why I find it so hard but this made me feel less goofy abt that lol

Yes!! Why is it so hard to wear red bottoms? Glad someone else agrees

I maintain you need the ballet sneakers. You would rock them.

Adore the suit! I see so many immaculate vintage Armani suits but have never ordered because of fit concerns. Any tips on how you nailed it?

Maybe it's really a luck thing but I have gotten better at approximating how things will look on me from hanger pics, so I think it can be done somewhat.

I think this was pure luck because the realreal measurements are always wrong, but I would say when in doubt go bigger, because most quality suits are made with tailoring in mind - also probably worth noting if you try on a certain brand and it feels like it fits your proportions—I’m more likely to order another vintage Armani than try out a different brand !

The Armani suit is amazing, Eleanor! For shoes, I would do an Oxford/lace-up, lean into the menswear vibe, and do a lacy camisole under it. Love the red top-so fun!

I have the eccos in both black and red and they are amazing (to be the devil on your shoulder 😈)

The Chloe Sevigny shoes remind me that I have a pair of Keen uneek sandals on my eBay watchlist. Fully have no intention of buying them but do love an ugly summer sandal haha

Oooh, what color are they! I’ve been tempted by those before

The black ones! But Google is showing me a khaki that is kind of amazing and obnoxious.

Good job on that beautiful Piazza Sempione sweater. You'll definitely need it in San Francisco — also jackets, scarves, socks, hats, even gloves if you're going to the ocean side of the city. Temps have been in the 50s and 60s, with wind chill. Much warmer in Marin and the East Bay and on the Peninsula. Layers are your friend!

Officially going to keep an eye out for lapis lazuli on my upcoming Mother’s Day trip to the antique mall. How pretty!

As a never-wears-skirts person I bought and love the Lulu skirt from Wray! Highly recommend (and it’s 100% cotton). They’re going out of business tho , sadly, so things are p sold out/final sale - dunno about secondhand availability. Good luck in your quest!

That suit is so amazing. It looks perfect on you. I love the shoes you paired with it. I think a pointy toed shoe or low profile sneaker would also look awesome.

Yes, I agree on pointy toed shoe! I just sold a pair of Tibi ones I never wore 🙄but it was for a reason… I’m sure I’ll find a better pair at some point!

LOVE the suit, it is indeed super chic!

Why is a cotton midi skirt so hard to find? I have a great striped jersey one from MDS Stripes that took me 10 years to track down on eBay, but it was so worth it. I'm looking for something similar for this year but am really struggling too. I'll let you know if I find something!
