Great idea to find a new strap for that bag, it’s probably from the 1930s. I love seeing what other people buy! I just had a little thrift shop today and found some lovely things that I’m excited about, including a 100% silk made in Canada tunic for under $20.💕
I too am in a weird western shirt phase so I get it… also thank you thank you for your gap denim review! I have been eyeing these so I appreciate your notes on denim weight
Participating in the 75 Hard Style Challenge, but giving myself a low buy instead of a no buy, since restriction usually has the wrong affect on me! Love the pieces you bought and curious why you find thrifting in NYC to be less satisfying?
I think thrifting in NYC feels less satisfying because most of the thrift stores are just smaller in general, and feel more picked over / “competitive” / expensive. Once you’re used to thrifting in a suburban warehouse it’s hard to do it rubbing shoulders with some of the coolest people you’ve ever seen for double the prices 😂
I also got a pair of the 100% cotton GAP jeans at an astonishingly low price after Black Friday. The more dramatic barrel ones, and have been surprised too at the lightness and drape of the fabric. But for crawling around on the floor after a toddler, it’s great😅 Love your Grandma’s chainmail bag—how special! Love to see how you style that.
I’m on day 4 of 75hardstyle! I did it last year as well, but broke the no buy a few weeks in. This time round I’m pretty determined to stick to it, & continue with low buy guardrails for the rest of the year.
I love that strap paired with your grandma’s bag! What a beautiful pairing! I love my vintage white Whiting and Davis bag. It even fits my phone.
In December I bought a navy cashmere sweater and brown croc leather bag from eBay. I also got a vintage pair of short Frye boots (half size too large, but I’ll manage!) and a pair of vintage Levi’s 540s. The previous owner glued hot pink ribbon and sewed white patches with poorly done Sharpie drawings on them, so I am working to restore them to their former glory! I’ve already patched the knee with sashiko thread and am going to douse the areas with glue residue with pure acetone 🤞🏻
Going to investigate the 75 hard challenge you linked to!
I sent you a message to share the picture but it won’t let me add it. Not sure if that’s on my end? I did buy them with the intention of patching them and removing what a teen girl did to them.
Oooh. I love the idea of doing a 75 hard style challenge. I think no buys are hard but if you pair them with the push to actually get dressed every day and challenge yourself creatively, the no buying aspect would be more manageable!
I have had a similar experience as you looking for Clare V used pieces and for that reason, I do allow myself to purchase some items new because they seem to keep their value.
“Ring the bell” sent me. What a beautiful relationship!

That Taco Bell tee is soooo good! What a great find
Thanks! I knew it was good when my husband wanted to keep it for himself

Ooh can’t wait to see what western shirts you find!!

LOL, makes sense!

I’m so curious about the Levi’s .. lol
Did you buy them with the intent to restore them? Need a photo of what they looked like with the ribbon!!

Now I think it should work! I had to “accept” the original message first
