I’m replacing ‘week of outfits’ with ‘what I wore’—feels less clunky and also more accurate, as these posts usually contain more than seven outfits, and don’t often encompass an exact consecutive week. If I’m feeling particularly motivated, I might even go back and change all twenty-eight of the previous post titles!
There are a lot of repeat items in this particular round-up, and I felt self-conscious as I was compiling it. But one of my favorite things about fashion Substack is seeing how other writers (and readers—there are always a couple outfit threads going on the
and chats) rewear their clothes. I’m not expecting to see all new garments when someone shares a new outfit photo—I even feel an odd parasocial fondness when I recognize a garment and can remember how that person previously styled it. Why would I hold myself to a different standard? Here’s to wearing the same very conspicuous sweater vest multiple times in a week!I try to provide a secondhand option for every piece of clothing in these posts, whether it’s the exact item or an approximation. You can assume anything I link to is secondhand unless otherwise stated!
Wearing an old Zara wool scarf (similar here), vintage sweatshirt (similar here), Dunst leather jacket (amazing options here), Coach beanie (similar here), GAP barrel jeans (secondhand here in a slightly lighter wash), and Sam Edelman boots (exact ones here).
Work and a park walk! Wearing my Miami Heat sweatshirt (similar here), RTR x Ashley Park pants (exact ones here), Everlane beanie (similar here), rented Sandro bag (similar option here), various thrifted necklaces from high school (similar locket here), and the Dunst leather jacket and Sam Edelman boots again.
More park time with the dog between sessions. I’ve tried to plan my schedule so that I have clients in the morning and the evening and a block of free time in the middle of the day for exactly this purpose! Wearing a Muji striped turtleneck (exact one here on Canadian Poshmark), Sandro rented vest (exact one here), and the RTR x Ashley Park pants, leather jacket, Coach beanie, and Sam Edelman boots again.
I was back in Florida for another brief weekend and my parents took me out for a belated birthday dinner! Went home for a second dessert of Wright’s alpine cake. Wearing a Reformation tank top (exact one here), Madewell belt (very similar here… but that one is more expensive than the Madewell version), rented DL1961 barrel pants (Nili Lotan version here for sub-$200!… and you can’t tell but these DL1961 pants are are navy! The outfit is so much cooler when you can tell it’s black and navy, not all black. Also wearing a rented Mansur Gavriel bag (exact one here; similar one here) and Melissa sandals (exact ones here). I borrowed my mom’s denim jacket and one of her necklaces right before we headed out the door.

Went over to my friend Kara’s to sew—was finishing a quilt that’s headed to my sister for her birthday! Wearing a red cashmere COS beanie (similar here), J. Crew turtleneck (same one here), and my March purchase: GAP barrel jeans in black (exact ones here). Also wearing the Sandro vest, Madewell belt, Dunst leather jacket, and Sam Edelman boots again.
More work, more park! Wearing a Tibi jacket I bought from Rent the Runway (exact one via Canadian Poshmark here), W’Menswear pants (similar vibe here), white Nike Blazers (so many here), and the Miami Heat sweatshirt and Everlane beanie again.
Wearing black Nike Blazers (same ones here), thrifted Ralph Lauren button-up (very similar one here), and the Coach beanie, Madewell belt, GAP barrel jeans, and Dunst leather jacket again.
Wearing an old thrifted red cashmere sweater (very similar here) and… everything else is a repeat from earlier in the post!
Wearing Agolde jeans (same ones here), Cos wool t-shirt (same one here in yellow), and all repeats again!
from invited me to a panel she was hosting on circularity and sustainability and we finally got to meet IRL! You don’t realize how much goes into event planning and hosting until you watch a real pro in action—she introduced me to multiple people because she knew I was there on my own, and every detail was was aligned to the vision (no plastic, catering from a chef who uses only locally sourced ingredients, edible and compostable decorations, etc.). I met some other great people—ran into someone who recognized me from our mutual friend’s Instagram, met another writer () who loves secondhand clothing and who asked, in my opinion, the most perceptive question of the entire night, and a nail artist who was wearing a silk tie with a baseball pattern (so cool)! It seems as though I’ve settled on a formula for my top half for ‘events’—the velvet vest and the mesh turtleneck. I also wore that pairing when I went to see Kacey Musgraves and Diana Ross! The velvet vest is vintage (similar here), the mesh turtleneck is from AFRM (same one here), the pants are Needles (exact ones here), and the belt and boots are repeats.
If you missed the previous installments of weekly outfit posts, you can find them here!
I like seeing how you style the same pieces differently. And I also like your dog!
I absolutely love seeing repeats! And you're right, it's a totally a "parasocial fondness"!
