I try to provide a secondhand option for every piece of clothing in these posts, whether it’s the exact item or an approximation. You can assume anything I link to is secondhand unless otherwise stated!
Just a day of work! Wearing thrifted men’s button-up (similar here), black GAP barrel jeans (exact ones here), Madewell belt (exact one here; similar but more expensive here), and Sam Edelman boots (exact ones here).
Went to see The Friend and loved it. I never read the book because I suffer from a severe case of judging-a-book-by-its-cover disease, but now I want to. Wearing Opening Ceremony jacket (here in a medium, cropped version here in a large, here in an XS), Reformation tank top (exact one here—secondhand ones abound, but most people are pricing them at or higher than brand new retail cost… lowball those people), rented DL1961 pants (similar Everlane pair here, similar Tibi pair here on Poshmark for $85?), Loeffler Randall cowboy boots (these boots are only ankle height but serve the same function in an outfit like this), and Madewell belt again.
Wore this to dinner at an Uzbek restaurant in Brighton Bay with friends! Wearing Sandro sweater (very similar here), Tibi coat (exact one via Canadian Poshmark here), GAP barrel jeans (slightly different wash here), Bass loafers (exact ones here), Le Bon Shoppe socks, and rented Sandro purse (similar shape in black here; exact one here—sold but put yourself on the waitlist).
Wore this to my friend Lynn’s reading for her new book The Float Test. Wearing Dunst leather jacket (exact one here in a small—under $200!), Needles corduroy pants (exact ones here), Proenza Schouler button-up via the RealReal (similar here), thrifted Jones New York wool jacket (very similar here), white Nike Blazers (so many here), and a hat (tan one is an old one of my husband’s, blue is a Coach one via eBay, (similar here).
On my way out the door to my quilt guild meeting! Wearing my Miami Heat sweatshirt (similar here), Derek Lam button-up via TRR (similar white button-up here), vintage necklace (similar here), and Sandro bag, Nike Blazers, and Needles corduroys again.
Work and a park walk with my dog. Wearing old Carven button-up via TRR (similar here), Garnet Hill sweater vest via eBay (similar vibe here), thrifted denim barn jacket (similar here), and Nike Blazers and GAP barrel jeans again.
Welcome drinks for a wedding (and the second night of what would unintentionally end up being a three-night streak of steak frites… this time in the form of room service at my friend’s hotel). Wearing vintage Giorgio Armani suit (somewhat similar here), The Met tank top (exact one here), and Holzweiler suede sandals (similar vibe in green here). Wearing an old Baggu leather tote in the picture (exact one here) but I ended up taking the burgundy Sandro bag instead.
Sunday brunch at Cafe Mogador with friends who were in town for the wedding. When someone orders pancakes for the table… you know you’re in for a good meal! Wearing Reformation t-shirt (same one in black here), Who? Weekly baseball cap, rented DL1961 pants (exact ones here), Nike Blazers, and Opening Ceremony jacket again.
Met up with a friend and struck out at a new-to-us bar… vibes were off! We decided the next hang will likely involve crafts at someone’s apartment. Always feels good to progress to the stage of friendship where you are comfortable inviting someone over. Wearing my sewing club t-shirt (some tips for finding your own niche interest t-shirt here), W’Menswear pants (similar vibe here), Melissa sandal (exact ones here), jumble of necklaces including Roxanne Assoulin beaded necklace (here in different color scheme), thrifted BDG shirt around the waist (very similar shirt here), and Sandro bag and Who? Weekly hat again. Liked the shirt around the waist but did not like the way it looked with the rest of the outfit when I actually needed to wear it for warmth. Lesson learned!
As a bonus for making it to the end of this post… here are our wedding fits!
