It’s the worst! I think it’s because every wedding feels a little different in terms of tone, formality, relationship to the people getting married.. never just a copy and paste scenario.
Sometimes I have to tone myself down so I’m not too ~extra~ when guests are rocking jorts. I also appreciate knowing what bridesmaids are wearing so I don’t unintentionally wear that color.
i have never purchased an event dress that i wanted to wear more than once. for a long while i was in a cycle of purchasing something secondhand that was specific to an event, and ultimately reselling (usually at a big loss). so, in my most recent clean out i sold/gave away ALL my dresses. they are just not versatile for my lifestyle. i now have 2 pairs of dressy silk pants - one trouser silhouette and one wide leg/architectural pair, and 1 dries van noten midi skirt. they all required alterations to fit me well - this is why i won't invest in a rental service! i have a few tops and a blazer that i can make work across seasons that are also wearable for other situations. it's a bit boring, but it is enough for me right now.
I loveeeee a dressy pair of pants for a wedding!! I’ve been passively looking for a pair for a long time - a well-fitting blousy pair of silk pants looks so good !
Love the Mr. Larkin - my go to for wedding attire! Also I made grave mistake of wearing my MNZ wedges to a wedding - need a lower profile like the ones you shared! Keeping eyes peeled 👀
I’m glad I’m not alone (also experience temporary insanity when dressing for a wedding)

Yes! Asking the bridesmaids if possible is a pro tip

🖤 the dress you got! Pretty😊
this is great! love all your options even tho they didn't work out. Also, i wish mnz would make more of the sylvie style and the low heeled palmas!

Yes!! Perfect timing! I’m attending a wedding next month and I have zilch to wear. Also, the Loeffler Randall dress is 🤌💝
It’s a great dress for when you want to be the center of attention (which is almost never for me, lol)
