This post is scheduled for the second-to-last day of my visit to San Francisco—I’m still on vacation, baby! I figured we could all use something light and link-heavy (and I cleared out my wishlists while I was sitting at the JetBlue charging station). Here are some amazing things that have lingered on my various wishlists for far too long—they should belong to someone, even if that someone isn’t me.
These first items are a sampling of what I find when I forget to enter a price cap on a RealReal search (devastating):

Dries Van Noten denim jacket (S), $556: What are these arm cutouts?! Perfect for someone who is always sweaty (me).
Dries Van Noten printed sock boots (IT 39), $595: I’d wear these with a flowy floral dress and trench coat (neither of which are items I already own… )
Jil Sander zip pants (IT 48), $507: Just imagining the different silhouettes you could create with the full-length zippers.
Sacai wool jacket (M), $591: My version of “day to night” dressing is “dog park to human party” and this jacket would work for both!
Bottega Veneta leather boots (9), $409: Somehow more chic with a slime green heel than in all black?
A sampling of my home decor dreams—ranging from small and delightful to obnoxiously large and more debatably delightful1:

Taco Bell neon sign, $2,500: This is my version of Michael Scott’s St. Pauli Girl—it would look amazing on the wall above my yellow metal dining table.
Carole Stupell cantaloupe bowls and plates, $500: I would use these every single day—don’t save your fun dinnerware for special occasions!
Lindt Stymeist teapot, $39: The tea drinker’s accompaniment to the Bodum x MoMA french press. I don’t drink tea regularly, so it’s languished on my watchlist for months.
Giant wall Swatch, $532: Not for everyone… but definitely for someone. There’s something about messing with scale (in either direction) that really draws me in.
Antique double wedding ring quilt, $260: This is a pattern traditionally used as a wedding gift—my friend Kara made me a beautiful one in neons for my own wedding! I’d love to have an antique one with scalloped edges, too.
Some finds for when you feel like dressing down:

Liz Claiborne striped t-shirt (M), $15: Don’t listen to me, take it from
—there’s no need to buy a new striped longsleeved t-shirt!Diana Ross t-shirt (XL), $138: One of the vintage merch options I saved after opting out of the less than ideal selection for sale at her concert in March!
Chore coat (M), $59: There is no shortage of secondhand chore coats online, but this is the platonic ideal in denim.
Esprit Sport western collared sweatshirt (M), $60: What is this? Perfect mix of strange and vaguely on-trend.
Adidas tennis shirt (L), $150: Not my sport (tennis fans will accuse me of stolen valor!) but it’s so good I might have to make an exception.
Patchwork jean jacket (M), $60: Patchwork is the best way to deviate from the norm in the jean jacket category.
…and some for when you feel like dressing up!

Animale midi dress (S/M), $40: Thinking about wearing this dress makes me almost look forward to warmer weather?
Barney’s cashmere 3/4 sleeve sweater (M), $50: I’m always drawn to garments like this (short-sleeved sweaters, leather shorts, etc.) that are only appropriate weather-wise for a few days out of the year. But what glorious days those are!
Banana Republic brown silk camisole (M), $32: Brown and black together! Silk! Lace!
Kenzo silk jersey dress (XS), $125: I resisted the soccer jersey trend last year partly because soccer is not my sport, but also because most of those jerseys are made of polyester—this dress is 100% silk.
Carole Little sheer silk shirt (M), $15: Yet another 100% silk beauty.
Bradley Bayou blue suede trench coat (XL), $85: This is for the imaginary Eleanor that owns pointy high heels and flared trousers and keeps her coat on at fancy events instead of slinging it awkwardly across her arm.
And the pièce de résistance… the item that any of my wealthy patrons are welcome to purchase for me2: the Louis Vuitton x NBA weekend travel bag. Can you imagine?! Alas, this will sit on my eBay watchlist until the seller offers a discount of at least $11,500.
Let me know if you buy anything (except for the NBA weekender… I’d rather be surprised when that one shows up at my door)!
My husband would not immediately veto most of these and I love him for that
I had one of those oversized watches in the late 80s!! Mine was just plain black, though, and cheap plastic (but I do still have my original Swatch).
Hope your holiday is going swimmingly, Eleanor!
Loved everything but the obsessed with the cantaloupe bowls! So good. No such thing as ‘good china’ 😊❤️
