I love the consistency of your collared shirt + barrel leg pants + strappy sandals combination. Totally agree that it's affirming to see repeated elements in people's outfit posts!
Thanks, Lan! I didn’t even notice the formula/combo until you pointed it out, but it does seem like the majority of the pants I rotate through now have that barrel leg silhouette … good to remember as I think about whether or not I eventually want to buy the rented pair
Love your weekly outfit posts!! You + midimalist chat are what gave me the courage to include an outfit pic in my first newsletter!! Going to try and make a habit of it even though it feels so intimidating for some reason. Also feel free to ignore if this is your fashion safe space with no work/book discussion but I would love to hear more abt your next book/writing process in a post sometime if you ever feel comfortable 💗💗
So excited for your newsletter! And definitely not averse to talking about other hobbies (including writing) here but I don’t have a ton to say or offer about process right now because it’s been sooo long since I have actually written! This newsletter got me writing again. Happy to talk more about the book and bounce ideas off of someone one on one though :)
I love vintage Esprit! Your bright blue sandals make the outfit for me ✨ I appreciate your posts and commentary on your outfits. It’s easy to feel less than about looking “normal” relative to others, but I remind myself that I’m not an influencer and my job doesn’t hinge on people thinking I look ~cool~
I love every single one of these options and I am so glad I somehow stumbled upon your Substack. I second the weirdness of taking mirror outfit selfies but I do it for the same reason - I work from home and have lived in sweatpants for 4 years straight. Earlier this year I just told myself enough is enough and fucking get dressed already. I do it for noone but myself and I can't think of a better reason.
Frances McDormand and Catherine Keener are my style icons.
Yes! So glad the mirror selfies have been helpful for motivating you to get dressed again--and the best person to do that for is yourself =) Catherine Keener is so good! I forgot about her--she's a great example of hair acting as an accessory in an outfit.
YES, I love these too! I love yours -- and feel insecure about my own sometimes. And LOVE this format. This makes it so easy for me to see both how the week in total hung together AND all the details (yours are always so interesting) in each look. Thank you!

Thanks! Thank goodness my job doesn’t hinge on that lol
I’m glad you love the Midimalist chat as much as I do. I could scroll REAL outfits all day, never stop posting!
Yay! These are also my favorite - love seeing all the fits.
Thanks! 😊
Lord Jeff! I have a bunch of sweaters from their women's line (Lady Jeff). Great to see the name pop up.
Did not know there was an accompanying women’s line!

You're reading my mind, I love rewearing the same thing almost every day of the week just because I enjoy that item so much!

Thanks, Rachel! 😊had fun experimenting with the format and I’m glad it’s coming across the way I wanted it to
